It's funny you asked because on autoblog.com they did an article about an H2 diesel at the 2005 Sema show. Somebody transplanted a GM/Isuzu Duramax engine into it. They are claiming 500 HP and 20+ mpg. I will post the pics below.

Check autoblog.com for the writeup.

Default This is not a myth... Just Costly

There is a company making this happen for any H2 on the market today. They even have some dealerships providing a warranty with it. The problem is simple though... Its a $40000 - $75000 price tag.

if you want more information please shoot me an email with your contact information. ill be happy to let you know what I have.

Joe

Default diesel for less

im new to this site but was reading about the hummer diesels and thought you would like to know that we have been building these for a couple years now. We have built ones with NP1 truck transfer cases so you can put them in 2wd and have built them with a custom output shaft in the allison tranny to use a Hummer all wheel drive transfer case. I can email photos. They also get 19-22 mpg including the allwheel drive ones.

Red,

Can you send me some photos and all the info so I can post it on the site somewhere. I will most likely just do a news story about it and I can link it to your site or wherever.

Email: webmaster@gmhummer.com

Thanks,
